Aligning Clinical and Public Health Systems for Population Health: Networks, Governance and Incentives

Overview

Dr. Mays traveled to Columbus, Ohio to participate in a roundtable session held by Governing Magazine. Senior state and local health officials, practitioners from health systems and experts from affiliated organizations attended the leadership roundtable session to explore the use of evidence-based, patient-centered approaches in healthcare. Specifically, Dr. Mays provide insight on strategies that align delivery and financing systems for medical care, public health, and social services in ways that create better population health outcomes.
 
The Columbus roundtable was the third and final meeting held as the magazine completed a national survey to explore the use of evidence-based, patient-centered approaches in healthcare. Experts were asked to share and expand upon the trends or challenges identified through the research and identify ways to address the challenges. Governing Magazine received support for the roundtable by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
