WEBINAR: Are We Measuring Up? Exploring Public Health Performance and Health Equity in the United States and Canada

screen_shot_2016-07-11_at_12.22.58_pm.png Research results to date will be presented for an exploration of how accountability structures and measures influence the performance of core public health activities and, in turn, how this performance influences health equity using various measures of population health status. Data collected through the U.S. National Longitudinal Survey of Public Health Systems instrument is analyzed in combination with national demographic and health status surveillance data.

CB Mamaril, PhD, Research Assistant Professor, Systems for Action National Coordinating Center and Assistant Professor, University of Kentucky College of Public Health moderated the session. Marjorie MacDonald, RN, MSc, PhD, Co-Director of the Core Public Health Functions Research Initiative, Vice-President of the Public Health Association of British Columbia, and Professor at the University of Victoria School of Nursing, provided commentary from the research community. Gabriela Alcalde, DrPH, Vice-President of Policy and Program at the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, provided commentary from the practice community.
