Overview

Dr. Mays was invited to present before the Strengthening Health Systems through Interprofessional Education (SHINE) Fellowship, National Association of County and City Health Officials and U.S. Centers for Disease Prevention and Control Leaders in Washington, DC. He described how financial and economic analyses are under-utilized in assessing the value of population health improvement strategies. During the session he reviewed fundamental concepts and methods, and illustrated ways of applying financial and economic analysis techniques to population health initiatives.
