Youth Action Hub

The Youth Action Hub (YAH) is a participatory action research (PAR) hub and network in Connecticut driven by Black, Brown, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ young people with lived expertise of homelessness and housing instability. They are testing three new strategies through PAR which they anticipate will have a substantial impact on dismantling health and housing inequities. They were awarded $97,500 through the Equity Capacity Building Grant mechanism and their grant activities will include:

  • Implement systems alignment research with the youth/young adult homelessness workgroup of the Connecticut Can End Homelessness statewide campaign that includes service providers and policy makers across a wide range of systems and sectors.
  • Conduct exploratory research on the YAH model to learn how to strengthen and scale it to build collective power and achieve greater impact at the local and national level.
  • Explore the possibility of creating a Community Institutional Review Board as a resource for communities using PAR across the nation.
