Overview

This Research in Progress session profiles research underway through the Systems for Action Research Program examining how multi-sector population health initiatives may influence income-related disparities in life expectancy across communities.  We use 16 years of data from the National Longitudinal Study of Public Health Systems linked with area-level estimates of income-specific life expectancy from Raj Chetty's Health Inequality Project.  The results suggest that broad-spectrum population health initiatives that engage dense networks of collaborating organizations may help to reduce income-related disparities in life expectancy.
